Sound articulation therapy is a speech-language pathologist’s work aimed at helping children pronounce sounds correctly, especially those they distort, omit, or replace. We work with children from age 3 to help them speak clearly and be understood by others.
The process includes:
❆ initial speech sound assessment,
❆ identification of problematic sound groups,
❆ articulation exercises,
❆ sound elicitation and automation in speech,
❆ reinforcement in words, phrases, and connected speech.
Sessions are conducted in a playful format using mirrors, flashcards, and articulation tools. The specialist creates a personalized program and monitors progress.
Sound articulation is a crucial step in speech development, confident communication, and school readiness.
