Who is a speech therapist?
A speech therapist is a specialist who deals with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of speech disorders. It helps children and adults pronounce sounds correctly, develop coherent speech, enrich vocabulary and form competent communication.
A speech therapist works with various speech problems:
- delayed speech development (RRR),
- general speech underdevelopment (RRR),
- impaired pronunciation (burr, lisp, etc.),
- stuttering (logoneurosis),
- phonetic and phonemic disorders,
- alalia, dysarthria, aphasia.
In his work, the speech therapist performs diagnostics, draws up an individual lesson plan and applies special techniques — game exercises, articulatory gymnastics, speech therapy massage. Classes can be held individually or in mini-groups, often in the form of exciting games that help the child learn the material more easily.
